So many choices……..  Flip a coin maybe?

Okay, there are several options with these headers.  Now, drop down menus are easy, we can make a site for you that you can add more things to your drop down menu whenever you want.

Pages are typically static, you can add many of them, change them whenever you want.  You can go with drop down menus or 2 rows of pages, whichever you choose.  The extra row we have to write some extra code when you want it but it’s not a big deal.  Can be done anytime.

Categories are different, they “feed” just like your blog would.  For example, if you look at my blog I don’t have the dates on there.  There is a reason, if I made everything “date” specific it would over ride the way I want my “categories” to display on the drop down menus, which I didn’t think about when I did the “photo options”.  If I had thought about it I wouldn’t have numbered my options 1, 2, 3, 4, etc.  I should of given them a NAME.  Hey, I was tired, I’ll fix it someday but since I don’t want to “date” my blog it doesn’t matter.

No big deal for most people.  The “blog” page always shows the latest post, most people know that so it’s not a big deal.  Besides, if you put your blog calendar at the top no one will get confused.

There are several ways to work with Categories.  There are many eCommerce sites out there that use the categories for their different product lines.  For example, one gal has the main category “pumps”, under pumps she lists the different types, like: open toe, classic, platform, etc.

So as you can see, you can put the “pages” and categories in whatever order. You can choose “nothing” on the far left also.  As you can see I have “pages” selected.

Now above you can see you basically have any option.  You have the SAME options below the header.  Now in these options obviously they apply to all the pages.  You can’t make it apply differently to different pages.  You can change your mind whenever you want.

See how nice that is? So many choices for your header. And for any of you wondering…….. Your buttons can be very snazzy, they don’t have to look like mine (none). Your drop down menu will match in color and coordinate in appearance.

For the header images you have a lot of options as well……. Need ideas? Google your industry and look at the style of the top 10 to 20 sites and see what they are doing.
