How it began…..
I am a Career Coach who spent thousands getting my website done this last year. I ran into several problems….
First… I spent over $3400 to have someone write some content for some of my pages, it was a large website. I spent HOURS re-doing the writing so it sounded like I wanted. Then I spent HOURS picking out photos. This was the beginning of 2009.
Then guess what happened? I didn’t like how it looked. Read the rest of the story……….

While the long saga of getting a site I like was playing out, I was learning a LOT about the current state of the Web world. I can tell you I’ve spent hundreds of hours researching and learning the new Web, which was quite evolved since over a decade ago when I dabbled with sites.
I found am amazing platform……. WordPress….. And I wondered, “Why hadn’t anyone ever told me about them?”
I built several sites with WordPress, using different templates from different companies. I tested many.
I also was amazed how many Plugins there were, and how wading through all that info was mind numbing, and I have to say most of the directions on how to use them were terrible. Why wasn’t there a service that tested them? Provided comprehensive video directions? I would of paid someone to tell me what worked and what would save time and get me set up.
The other thing about WordPress…… The “templates” or “themes” for the most part have extraordinary, clean code. If you’ve ever checked for “errors” on a site built with Dreamweaver you’d know what I mean. My site that crashed and no longer exists had well over a hundred errors that was done by someone else.
So in my extensive testing, I found some templates were too flimsy. Some too restrictive.
Then I found a company that produces some of the most complex, powerful templates known to the WordPress world…… I was impressed…….. Really impressed……
So I bought the rights to use thier product and sell/build sites with thier product.

So the story continues…
So another couple months go by and I have to pay ANOTHER person $1000 more just to change the appearance. They didn’t have a good eye for layout or design. I had to say EXACTLY what I wanted. And you know what???? I still didn’t like it!!!! It was too amateurish and worse yet, I couldn’t do anything with my pages very easily, I didn’t “get it”.
So I was shopping around again for someone to work on it… Again. I agonized over who to hire and tried to check their “portfolios”, which you can buy pictures of portfolios so I don’t know why I bothered.
It seemed some web designers made it CLEAR they were too good and couldn’t be bothered. Others had a waiting list so I knew they would be too busy to help me since I needed someone to explain my options.
I finally settled on someone and she did great except for finishing the details. And from the time I gave her the first half of the money to the time it was “done” was a month. I didn’t get some of the things done to it I wanted…. AND this was ANOTHER $1000!!!! My email didn’t work either……
But guess what? I still had a website I didn’t couldn’t do anything with! I mean, I would have to hire someone every time I want to change something? Supposedly you could change the text but if you entered a wrong button you were in TROUBLE!
By now I’m kinda tired of this whole thing but it gets even better……..
The end of July 2009 my website went down. And I don’t mean a little bit, I couldn’t log into my blog, my email, NOTHING!! So at this point I had emailed her because back when I set up the site I had asked if I should host my site on my own server, she had told me that “no, most people host them with me because they get the first year free”.
When my site went down I remembered awhile back I needed help with the help desk and I emailed her and said I had submitted an email to the “help desk”, she said she was the “help desk” and all questions have to go through her. So then I wondered….. Hmmmm….
Sounds crazy huh? I have all the emails to prove all this…….. I will be saving them!
So now I have no site….. One which has cost me now over $6400 and guess what?? I don’t even have the FILES to rebuild it! Just the content I wrote! So here I am……
I thought to myself, “I KNOW how to manage people”! Someone needs to step up and start changing this mess!
When in corporate American I was an executive level manager with over $40 million in annual sales, over 200 employees (that changed depending on time of year, etc.). I thought to myself, why don’t I start a company and do something about this!?
I can make things happen. I can do THIS.
We will be plenty big and yes we know CSS, PHP, blah, blah, blah.
I also think WordPress is the ONLY way to go, if you are a small company or solo-professional. You get a stable reliable content management system that, once set up, pretty much anyone can use it.
I guarantee results and client satisfaction. I am finishing with a few very happy clients already so I will be posting testimonials in another couple weeks or so.
